Yantai Walsin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., based in China, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully rolling the first bar on its new Kocks Reducing & Sizing Block (RSB) 370++/4. This cutting-edge sizing block is a key component of a brand new rolling mill for SBQ (Special Bar Quality) products located in Yantai, Shandong.
The Kocks RSB 370++/4 is engineered with four 3-roll stand positions, specifically designed to optimize deformation behavior and yield strength. Positioned after 20 stands in an H/V arrangement, it efficiently finishes round dimensions ranging from 18 to 100 mm, hexagonal dimensions from 18 to 80 mm, and feeders for the wire rod line.
Kocks also provided the roll-shop equipment and its proprietary software solutions. Equipped with the measuring gauge 4D Eagle and seamlessly integrated with Kocks’ Size Control System (SCS), the RSB enables real-time adjustments of the rolling block’s operating parameters. This ensures transparent process monitoring and allows for swift adjustments whenever necessary, ensuring optimal production outcomes.
