BelRemaitha Steel Factory (BR Steel), based in Ajman, has completed its first commercial export shipment of 1,000 tons of steel billets to Saudi Arabia, marking a key milestone following months of operational testing and quality verification.
The company said the shipment follows the successful completion of trial runs and technical preparations for the first phase of billet production.
The milestone was marked at an event attended by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Acting Director-General of the Ajman Chamber, who noted that the emirate had 190 iron, steel and metal industry factories in 2025. He added that 745 Ajman Chamber memberships were held by companies in the sector, reflecting an annual growth rate of around 5pct.
BR Steel also said it plans to establish regional distribution centres to expand market access and strengthen the competitiveness of its products.
Located in the Jurf Industrial Area of Ajman, BelRemaitha Steel Factory (formerly Alfa Steel Factory) operates a steel melt shop producing 130 mm billets. The company also manufactures MS pipes, galvanized pipes and square tubes, and provides coil slitting, coil cutting and shearing services. BR Steel is also in the process of commissioning a rebar mill, with commercial operations expected to begin later this year.
