Tata Steel reported its strongest-ever annual performance in India in FY26, supported by higher crude steel output driven by the ramp-up at Kalinganagar, partly offset by the relining shutdown of the ‘G’ blast furnace at Jamshedpur.
Crude steel production in India rose 8pct YoY to 23.48 mln tons in FY26. In the fourth quarter, output increased 15pct YoY to 6.25 mln tons. Deliveries also reached a record 22.53 mln tons for the full year, in line with higher production. Q4 deliveries stood at 6.19 mln tons, up 10pct YoY and marking the highest quarterly volumes.
Outside India, Tata Steel Netherlands reported liquid steel production of 6.69 mln tons in FY26, with deliveries at 6.14 mln tons. Fourth-quarter deliveries increased 21pct quarter on quarter to 1.7 mln tons.
Tata Steel UK continued to serve customers through downstream processing of purchased substrate, with annual deliveries at 2.2 mln tons, down YoY due to weaker market conditions. The company said work is progressing on the planned 3 mln tons per year electric arc furnace (EAF) at Port Talbot.
In Thailand, saleable steel production stood at 1.33 mln tons in FY26, with deliveries at 1.32 mln tons, up 11pct YoY, supported by strong domestic rebar demand. Tata Steel is among the world’s leading steel producers, with annual crude steel capacity of around 35 mln tons.
