French steel pipe producer Vallourec has secured two additional line pipe orders from ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) under the long-term agreement signed between the companies in 2021.
The contracts cover supply of coated line pipes for ExxonMobil’s Hammerhead and Longtail deepwater projects located in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana.
The combined scope includes more than 145 km of line pipe representing around 40,000 tons. Of the total, around 90 km, equivalent to 22,000 tons, will be insulated using ExxonMobil’s Proxxima resin systems with GDLX subsea insulation technology.
The contracts also include application of anticorrosion coatings and corrosion resistant alloy (CRA) weld overlay cladding.
To support deployment of the insulation technology, Vallourec will invest in upgrading its Vallourec Coating Solutions facility in Serra, Espirito Santo, Brazil.
Vallourec stated that the Proxxima insulation technology offers improved thermal performance and faster insulation processing compared with conventional subsea insulation systems.
Vallourec is one of the world’s leading producers of premium tubular solutions for the energy industry, supplying steel pipes and related services for oil, gas, and industrial applications.
