EMSTEEL has supplied low-carbon steel sheet piles for a UK highway expansion project, with more than 1,100 tons of its GreenSheetPile ESZ section sheet piles installed as permanent retaining walls.
Sheet Piling (UK) Ltd, EMSTEEL’s exclusive distributor and agent for sheet piles in the UK and Republic of Ireland, worked with Breheny Civil Engineering on the M23 Junction 10 project, providing design, supply and installation support.
The works covered 522.2 linear meters of permanent sheet piling across four structures to enable widening of the existing congested highway. The longest sheet pile installed measured 17.5 meters.
The GreenSheetPile range is manufactured using low-carbon steel produced under EMSTEEL’s TrueGreen sustainability platform.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, EMSTEEL has annual production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement. The group exports to more than 70 markets, which account for around 30pct of total sales, and produces a broad range of steel products including wire rod, rebar, heavy sections and sheet piles.
