Al Qaryan Group strengthens focus on circular economy

Al Qaryan Group is advancing its circular-economy activities through the recovery, processing and recycling of materials. Its 2025 Sustainability Report says the group’s steel recycling activities resulted in 1.04 mln tons of avoided CO2 emissions during the year.

The group recycled 1.26 mln tons of recyclable materials during the year. Steel recycling generated estimated energy savings of 6,432 GWh and saved the equivalent of around 4.06 mln barrels of oil, while also reducing waste sent to landfill.

Al Qaryan Steel uses scrap supplied by the group’s recycling operations to produce billets. The company has annual billet production capacity of 450,000 tons, with 100pct of its steel raw materials sourced from recycled materials recovered through Al Qaryan Group’s recycling facilities.

Beyond steel production, Al Qaryan Pipes sold more than 34,000 tons of pipes and plates in 2025. Its product range includes pipes, HRC, plates, valves and fittings serving the oil and gas, water, construction, energy and transportation sectors.

The group’s international trading arm, Al Qaryan International, handles semi-finished products, refined metals, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics and other industrial commodities. The UAE-based business handles more than 5,000 containers annually, with over 600 global customers and more than 350 international suppliers.

Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Al Qaryan Group is active in industrial dismantling, recycling, logistics, international trading and the production of steel, copper and plastic products from recycled materials. The group operates 22 industrial and operational facilities and has capacity to recycle more than 1.5 mln tons of materials annually.
