Blastr Green Steel has signed an MoU with Aurora Infrastructure for a build, own, and operate (BOO) agreement to develop electricity distribution facilities for its planned steel plant in Inkoo, Finland. Aurora will handle the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and financing of the infrastructure.
Aurora, a Finnish electricity network provider, specializes in industrial network development and maintenance. This partnership supports Blastr’s goal of creating a low-carbon mine-to-gate steel value chain, cutting CO2 emissions by 90pct through hydrogen-based iron production and carbon-free energy sources.
Blastr aims to decarbonize steel production by leveraging Nordic resources and circular economy principles to produce 2.5 mln tons of ultra-low CO2 steel annually. Blastr Green Steel is part of Vanir Green Industries.
