Turkish steel producer Kardemir has announced a strategic partnership with U.S.-based Amsted Rail Company Inc., according to a stock exchange filing.
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Amsted Rail, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of integrated railway components and systems, including cast railway wheels. The partnership aims to enhance Kardemir’s global market presence while strengthening its domestic and national production capacity.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a key player in Turkey’s steel industry, with an annual production capacity of 3.5 mln tons. Its product portfolio includes blooms, billets, rebars, and profiles, with manufacturing facilities in Karabuk. Kardemir is also Turkey’s sole rail manufacturer.
