Govt allocates record USD 2.1 bln for housing projects

Bahrain’s government has allocated USD 2.1 bln for housing projects and services, the largest budget ever dedicated to the sector, according to BNA.

The announcement was made during a joint meeting of the executive and legislative bodies at the National Assembly Complex in Gudaibiya, where officials discussed key priorities for the 2025-2026 national budget.

The funding aims to reduce housing waiting lists and enhance accessibility through partnerships with the private sector.

Additionally, the meeting addressed initiatives to strengthen local production, improve food security, and develop public infrastructure, including parks, walkways, coastal areas, and markets.
