ArcelorMittal Partners with WOLF to advance sustainable manufacturing in HVAC sector

ArcelorMittal Steel Service Centres Europe has partnered with WOLF GmbH to support the company’s efforts toward more sustainable manufacturing. This collaboration highlights the practical use of low carbon-emissions steel solutions within the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.

Central to the partnership is ArcelorMittal’s XCarb recycled and renewably produced steel, a product designed with sustainability and circular economy principles in mind.

Produced at ArcelorMittal’s Sestao plant in Spain, the steel is manufactured using an electric arc furnace process, utilizing high scrap content and powered entirely by renewable electricity. This results in a significantly lower carbon footprint, 877 kg of CO2 per ton, compared to approximately 2,570 kg per ton from conventional blast furnace steel production. These figures are verified through Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and life cycle assessments, in accordance with EN 15804 and ISO 14025 standards.

WOLF GmbH has begun offering products made with XCarb recycled and renewably produced steel across a broad range of its ventilation units.
