Jindal (India) Limited, a key player in India’s downstream steel sector and part of the B.C. Jindal Group, has entered the steel section pipes and tubes market with a ₹100 crore (USD 11.68 mln) investment aimed at expanding its production capacity.
The new line is already operational at the company’s Ranihati plant in Howrah, West Bengal, targeting a monthly output of 5,000 tons. These products will cater to multiple sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, railways, warehousing, and real estate.
Currently, 70pct of Jindal’s output comprises coated flat steel products. Established in 1952, the company also produces a wide range of items such as color-coated and galvanized steel sheets, cold-rolled steel, and various pipe types from its facilities in Jangalpur and Ranihati.
