Hascelik, a leading Turkish producer of specialty steel, has successfully produced its first steel at its next-generation mill in Bilecik using advanced technologies supplied by Tenova.
Tenova, a global provider of green solutions for the metals industry, engineered and supplied the new liquid steel production line. The mill is equipped with state-of-the-art Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology and designed for high energy efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced steel quality.
Key components include Tenova’s Consteel EAF, Ladle Furnace (LF), and Twin Vacuum Degasser (VD), along with an advanced electromagnetic stirring system developed with ABB to optimize continuous charging, boosting productivity and resource efficiency.
Built to meet rising domestic and international demand for specialty steel, the plant features a digitalized, automation-driven infrastructure and is expected to create around 500 new jobs once fully operational.
