Turkish steel producer Kardemir reported its highest-ever monthly shipment volumes in May, driven by accelerated production efforts to meet its ambitious 2025 sales target.
In May alone, Kardemir shipped 81,326 tons of rebar and a total of 254,300 tons of finished steel products, marking the company’s highest monthly shipment tonnage on record.
This strong performance contributed to a total of 1.77 mln tons of steel shipped in the first five months of 2025, the highest cumulative shipment volume ever recorded by the company for this period.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
