Tenaris has announced plans to build a new service center in Northeastern British Columbia to support drilling operations in the Montney formation, a key oil and gas region in Canada.
The company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire nine acres of land for the facility, which will expand its storage capacity by 7,000 tons by the end of 2025. The deal is expected to close in July, pending customary conditions.
The new site will strengthen Tenaris’s Canadian operations, adding to its existing industrial footprint that includes a major production center in Sault Ste. Marie with an annual capacity of 620,000 tons of seamless and welded steel pipes. It also operates an OCTG finishing and threading facility in Nisku and coating facilities in Camrose and Edmonton, Alberta.
The British Columbia center will be Tenaris’s third service hub in Canada, joining current locations in Grande Prairie and Sherwood Park, Alberta.
