EBS commissions robotic cutting system to improve efficiency

Dubai-based steel fabricator Emirates Building Systems Co. has expanded its Voortman setup with the addition of the V807 robotic cutting system, the company announced.

The V807 offers fully automated processing, including bolt holes, notches, bevels, weld preps, and layout marking, in a single pass on all four sides of the material. Unlike traditional methods like drilling, milling, or sawing, the robotic plasma system delivers faster, more flexible performance while significantly reducing floor space requirements.

Voortman noted that combining multiple processes into one system results in a faster return on investment and greater efficiency compared to standalone machines. EBS already operates a Voortman drill/saw line, supported by a tailored Service Level Agreement for preventive maintenance.

Founded in 1997, EBS specializes in designing, fabricating, and erecting high-quality steel structures. With an annual production capacity exceeding 75,000 tons, its portfolio includes hot-rolled structures for industrial facilities, high-rise buildings, bridges, built-up sections, and pre-engineered buildings.
