Saudi Arabian steel producer Watania Steel has successfully commissioned a new high-speed rebar mill, according to a statement from India-based rolling mill equipment supplier PPRM.
The newly commissioned mill has already set impressive production benchmarks, including 1,750 tons in a single day and 995 tons in one shift, PPRM noted. It is capable of producing rebars ranging from 10mm to 40mm in diameter, with 10mm bars reaching rolling speeds of up to 30 meters per second. The facility has an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons.
Established in 2008, Watania Steel is an integrated steelmaker specializing in the production of billets and rebars.
