Global stainless steel pipe manufacturer Butting has announced plans to establish its North American headquarters and first U.S. production facility in Baldwin County, Alabama, as part of a USD 61 mln investment project.
The expansion will be executed in two phases. The new Alabama facility will be built on a 50-acre site in the Loxley industrial corridor. Phase 1 will establish the North American HQ and focus on engineering, as well as the fabrication of stainless steel spools, components, and cryogenic systems. Phase 2 will add two advanced stainless steel welded pipe mills, expand cryogenic production, and boost fabrication capacity to serve key U.S. industries.
Groundbreaking for Phase 1 is scheduled for fall 2025, with construction and hiring activities set to begin in the coming weeks.
Founded in 1777 and based in Knesebeck, Germany, Butting is a leading provider of stainless steel pipes, clad pipes, custom spools, and cryogenic pipe and valve systems. The company already operates in Germany, Finland, Brazil, Canada, and China.
