Turkey imported 1.58 mln tons of HRC during the first five months of 2025, reflecting a decline of over 10pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
China remained the largest supplier, delivering 640,400 tons, followed by Russia with 309,900 tons and Egypt with 209,200 tons.
In May 2025, HRC imports surged to 513,000 tons, an increase of more than 80pct compared to the same month last year and up 125pct from April 2025.
