JSW JFE Electrical Steel orders advanced tunnel furnaces for Nashik plant

JSW JFE Electrical Steel Nashik has awarded John Cockerill India a contract to engineer, design, manufacture, and supply advanced tunnel furnaces for its Nashik facility, with commissioning scheduled for early 2027.

The furnaces, which include modern coil handling systems, will play a crucial role in refining the magnetic properties of Grain-Oriented Electrical Steel (GOES), essential for high-efficiency power transformers and energy transmission systems.

This investment is part of JSW JFE’s major expansion plan to increase CRGO production capacity fivefold, from 50,000 tons to 250,000 tons annually, in line with India’s growing demand for energy-efficient infrastructure.
