Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has opened a new sales round for rebar and wire rod, according to its latest price list.
Rebar was set at TRY 22,475 per ton (USD 544), slightly higher than TRY 22,455 per ton (USD 547) in the previous round on August 27. The USD price dipped due to exchange rate fluctuations, with the company basing prices on TRY 41 per USD.
Wire rod prices were left unchanged. Kardemir is offering 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade at USD 580 per ton EXW, and 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grades at USD 570 per ton EXW.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, wire rods, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
