Brazil’s Minerios Itauna Ltda (Minerita) has awarded Metso the supply of key comminution equipment for its greenfield compact iron ore project in Itatiaiucu, Minas Gerais.
The plant will target 4.5 mln tons per year of premium pellet feed in two phases. For phase one, the energy-efficient circuit will process compact itabirite ore using a Nordberg C160 jaw crusher, MP800 cone crusher, HPGR, and a 3.9 MW Select ball mill, with regrinding handled by two Vertimill VTM4500 mills, Metso said.
Founded in 1971, Minerita specializes in the mining, beneficiation, and preparation of iron ore and manganiferous ore.
