Jindal Stainless, through its subsidiary Jindal Stainless Steelway, has inaugurated its first stainless steel fabrication unit at Washivali, Patalganga, Mumbai. Spanning 400,000 sq ft, the facility will primarily serve the bridge sector, producing a range of girders and other critical components.
Built with an investment of around INR 125 crore (USD 14 mln), the unit strengthens Jindal’s role as both a leading stainless steel supplier and an integrated fabrication solutions provider for India’s infrastructure sector.
The facility is expected to scale up from an initial 4,000 tons of fabrication capacity this fiscal year to 18,000 tons annually by FY26-27, supporting the rising demand for durable and sustainable bridge infrastructure.
As India’s largest stainless steel producer, Jindal Stainless is expanding its annual melt capacity to 4.2 mln tons by FY27. The company operates 16 manufacturing and processing facilities across India, Spain, and Indonesia, along with a global network spanning 12 countries. Its product portfolio includes slabs, coils, plates, sheets, precision strips, blade steel, and coin blanks.
