Masdar and Etihad Rail have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore transport solutions for the green hydrogen value chain across the UAE.
The partnership will assess how Etihad Rail’s expanding national network can support the movement of feedstocks and products, including hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel, to strengthen the country’s hydrogen ecosystem.
Masdar aims to become a global leader in green hydrogen production by 2030, while Etihad Rail connects key industrial and port hubs, with passenger operations set to begin in 2026.
The collaboration supports Abu Dhabi’s Low-Carbon Hydrogen Policy and the UAE’s National Hydrogen Strategy 2050, which target emissions reduction in hard-to-abate sectors such as transport, chemicals and metals, including aluminum, iron and steel.
