Maruichi Stainless Tube Co. Ltd., a leading Japanese manufacturer, has commissioned SMS group to supply a complete extrusion line for stainless steel tubes at its new greenfield site in Shimonoseki, Japan.
The scope includes fully electrified billet heating systems, a next-generation horizontal tube extrusion press, and advanced automation. The extrusion press, with a force increased from 20 to 50 meganewtons, will expand Maruichi’s range of stainless steel pipe dimensions.
Automation will be anchored by SMS’s MIDIS production control system, providing real-time monitoring, data analysis, and process optimization to ensure productivity, precision, and compliance with international quality standards.
Construction of the factory building is scheduled to finish by end-2026, with equipment installation and start-up planned for fiscal 2027, following JIS certification.
