Tokyo Steel, Japan’s leading electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaker, announced that it will keep all product prices unchanged for November sales under its latest monthly pricing policy.
The company’s prices for HRC (1.7-22 mm) and pickled and oiled coil (1.7-6 mm) remain at JPY 86,000 (USD 568) and JPY 92,000 (USD 607) per ton, respectively, while coated coil (0.9-1.6 mm) stay at JPY 121,000 (USD 799) per ton. In long products, rebar (13-25 mm) remains at JPY 82,000 (USD 541) per ton, and H-beams at JPY 100,000 (USD 660) per ton.
The company cited persistent uncertainty in global markets despite some signs of stabilization. In China, sluggish domestic demand continues to weigh on steel consumption despite price hikes by local mills. Meanwhile, in the U.S., steel index recovery remains tentative amid economic policy concerns.
Domestically, Tokyo Steel noted weak construction indicators and slower-than-expected recovery in shipments, though demand from new projects and export-oriented industries, particularly automotive, shows improvement. Labor shortages and cautious production outlooks, however, continue to restrain full recovery.
Given ongoing cost pressures and subdued demand, the company said it will maintain current prices across all product categories to help stabilize the market and support a potential recovery in coming months.
