Cemtas to halt melt shop and rolling mill operations for maintenance

Turkish special steel producer Cemtas Celik will temporarily suspend production at its melt shop and rolling mill for scheduled maintenance, the company said in a stock exchange filing.

The maintenance shutdown will take place from October 23 to October 31, covering crane maintenance, overhauls, and planned refractory replacement in the reheating furnace at the rolling mill. Production at the balance bar unit will continue during this period.

Founded in 1970, Cemtas produces a wide range of specialty steels, including bearing, free-cutting, lead, spring, and tool steels. The company operates a melt shop with an annual capacity of 193,204 tons and a rolling mill capable of producing 207,360 tons per year.
