Erdemir Group, one of Turkey’s leading steel producers, reported a steep decline in profitability for the first nine months of 2025, according to its latest financial results.
Net profit fell to TRY 2.51 bln (USD 60 mln), down sharply from TRY 11.28 bln a year earlier. Sales revenue slipped 0.67pct YoY to TRY 147.9 bln (USD 3.52 bln).
The company’s crude steel output dropped 12pct YoY to 5.8 mln tons, with the Iskenderun plant producing 4.7 mln tons and the Eregli facility 1.7 mln tons. Capacity utilization decreased to 81pct, compared with 92pct in the same period last year.
Flat steel production declined 5pct YoY to 4.95 mln tons, while long steel output fell 14.8pct to 619,000 tons.
Flat product sales totaled 4.98 mln tons, down 3.4pct YoY, with 3.7 mln tons sold domestically. Long product sales reached 627,000 tons, mostly in the local market, compared with 707,000 tons in the same period of 2024.
Exports accounted for 23pct of Erdemir’s total sales during the nine-month period.
Erdemir Group’s main products include billet, slab, wire rod, hot rolled, cold rolled, and coated steel products.
