Vallourec wins line pipe contract for Shell’s Orca deepwater project

Vallourec has secured a contract from TechnipFMC to supply over 20,000 tons of subsea seamless premium carbon-steel line pipes for the Orca project (formerly Gato do Mato), a major deepwater development in Brazil’s Santos Basin operated by Shell Brasil.

The contract includes the supply of riser and flowline pipes along with anticorrosive and thermal insulation coating services, the company said.

Headquartered in Meudon, France, Vallourec operates in more than 20 countries, with key production hubs in the US and Brazil. The company is a global leader in premium seamless tubular solutions for the oil and gas industry, with an annual production capacity of 2.1 mln tons.
