Kardemir narrows 9-month loss despite lower sales revenue

Turkish steelmaker Karabuk Demir Celik (Kardemir) significantly reduced its losses in the first nine months of 2025, according to its financial report.

The company posted a net loss of TRY 955 mln (USD 22.6 mln) for January-September 2025, down sharply from TRY 3.94 bln a year earlier. However, sales revenue fell 11.8pct year on year to TRY 48.19 bln (USD 1.14 bln) during the same period.

Kardemir’s crude steel output remained stable at 1.87 mln tons, while sales volumes rose 9.4pct to 1.88 mln tons.

Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
