El Marakby for Metallic Industries (MKM), a subsidiary company of El Marakby Steel, has awarded Danieli Centro Combustion India a contract to supply a 60-tph pusher-type reheating furnace for its rolling mill in the 6th October Industrial Zone, Egypt.
The furnace will be equipped with Danieli’s patented low-emission burners, designed to ensure uniform billet heating, reduce scale formation, and cut fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. Integrated with the existing rolling mill, it will enhance thermal efficiency and billet temperature consistency, improving overall rolling performance.
The project aligns with MKM’s decarbonization strategy, focusing on energy-efficient and lower-emission technologies. Startup is scheduled for mid-2027.
El Marakby Steel currently produces 460,000 tons per year of rebar and wire rod.
