Turkey imported 3.2 mln tons of billets in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 51pct YoY increase, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Malaysia was the top supplier with about 753,500 tons, followed by Russia at 699,500 tons and China at 631,300 tons.
In September alone, billet imports reached 345,200 tons, up 8.5pct from a year earlier but 9pct lower than the previous month.
