Turkish pipe producer Erciyas Celik Boru has won the tender for a 42 km pipeline under Romania’s “Conducta de transport gaze naturale DN 600 Mihai Bravu – Silistea” project, after submitting the most competitive offer, according to a stock exchange filing. The contract is valued at approximately USD 9.1 mln.
The project is considered strategically important for strengthening Romania’s natural gas transmission network and supporting the EU’s broader energy security. Erciyas said the pipes will meet technical standards that align with Transgaz’s plans to make its infrastructure hydrogen-ready for future gas-hydrogen blending and transport.
The award reinforces Erciyas Celik Boru’s presence in the European market and supports its ambition to become a preferred supplier in natural gas-hydrogen conversion projects.
Erciyas Celik Boru specializes in producing steel line pipes ranging from 10 inches (273.1 mm) to 160 inches (4,064 mm) in diameter, having an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons.
