Turkey imported 1.4 mln tons of pig iron in the first seven months of 2025, up 61pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Russia remained the dominant supplier with 1 mln tons, followed by Kazakhstan (130,500 tons) and Germany (56,000 tons).
In July alone, imports surged 125pct YoY to 265,400 tons, marking a 29pct increase from June.
