Tubacex secures over USD 91 mln in new umbilical tube orders

Spain’s Tubacex has secured new orders worth more than EUR 80 mln (USD 91 mln) for the supply of umbilical tubes to one of the world’s leading subsea technology providers, reinforcing its position in the high-value offshore market.

The tubes will be supplied for offshore projects in Angola, Guyana and the North Sea, with production carried out at Tubacex’s umbilical tube facility in Ternitz, Austria, supported by the group’s manufacturing operations in Spain.

The latest contracts follow the orders announced in February, lifting the company’s cumulative 2026 umbilical tube order intake to more than EUR 100 mln (USD 114 mln).

Umbilical tubes are critical components used in subsea control systems, transporting hydraulic fluids, chemicals and control signals between offshore platforms and subsea installations. The products are designed to withstand high pressures, corrosion and harsh offshore operating conditions.

Tubacex said demand continues to be supported by offshore investment in key regions, including the North Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil, particularly through tieback projects that connect new wells to existing production infrastructure, improving capacity while reducing development costs.

Tubacex is a global leader in seamless stainless steel and high-performance alloy tubular products, operating 25 production plants and 17 service center worldwide.
