Tata Steel India production rises in H1 FY27

Tata Steel India’s crude steel production rose 10pct YoY to 11.97 mln tons in H1 FY27, while deliveries increased 8pct to 11.14 mln tons, according to the company’s provisional production and delivery data.

In Q2FY27, Tata Steel India’s production reached 6.21 mln tons, up 8pct QoQ and 10pct YoY from 5.64 mln tons in Q2FY26. Deliveries increased 15pct QoQ and 7pct YoY to 5.97 mln tons. The growth was supported by higher output at Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar.

In the Netherlands, production declined 9pct YoY to 1.52 mln tons, while deliveries fell 16pct to 1.30 mln tons. H1 production stood at 3.07 mln tons and deliveries at 2.70 mln tons.

In the UK, deliveries declined 33pct YoY to 0.38 mln tons from 0.57 mln tons a year earlier. Tata Steel continues to serve customers through downstream processing of purchased substrate, while deliveries were affected by inventory buildup ahead of new safeguards introduced on July 1, 2026..

In Thailand, production fell 11pct YoY to 0.32 mln tons, while deliveries declined 14pct to 0.31 mln tons. Deliveries were marginally lower QoQ due primarily to heavy rains in September.

Tata Steel is among the world’s leading steel producers, with annual crude steel capacity of around 35 mln tons.
