Agha Steel to supply high-strength rebar for residential project in Islamabad

Pakistan’s Agha Steel Industries has entered into a collaborative agreement with Mount Khalid to provide G80 ultra-high-strength rebars for a significant residential project in Islamabad.

This partnership marks a significant milestone for Agha Steel as it prepares to contribute to the highly anticipated Mount Khalid project, enhancing its structural integrity and ensuring long-lasting durability, according to a statement from the steel producer.

The Mount Khalid project encompasses 45 levels, offering over 1650 apartments to residents.

Agha Steel’s green G80 rebars, boasting a minimum yield strength of 80,000 pounds per square inch, outperform conventional reinforcement bars by 33pct in terms of strength. This utilization of G80 rebars not only enhances the project’s structural durability but also results in a 13pct reduction in consumption and substantial cost savings of 10pct compared to G60 rebars, the company said.

Agha Steel is a major EAF-based steel producer in Pakistan with an annual rebar production capacity of 240,000 tons. The company is currently expanding its production capacity and has also acquired an additional 17 acres of land adjacent to its existing facility for setting up the new re-rolling mill. Once the expansion is completed, Agha Steel will have an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons per year of billet and 650,000 tons of rebar.
