ArcelorMittal has increased its HRC offers for the EU market for April delivery to EUR 700 (USD 819) per ton delivered, up EUR 30-40 (USD 35-47) per ton from prices announced last month.
The company’s CRC offers were heard at around EUR 830 (USD 972) per ton. Galvanized steel, which is typically priced at a premium to CRC, was offered at EUR 820 (USD 960) per ton, below CRC levels.
Market sources said the price increases are being supported by the implementation of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), tight import quotas, and a series of steel-related anti-dumping investigations targeting major exporting countries.
