AMAK temporarily suspends base metals processing at Al Masane plant

Saudi Arabia’s Al Masane Al Kobra Mining Co. (AMAK) has announced a temporary suspension of zinc and copper concentrate processing at its Al Masane (ALM) process plant for around 16 weeks from 22 January 2026, in line with its 2026 business plan.

The company said the precious metals circuit at Al Masane, along with the Moyeath base metals plant and the Guyan precious metals plant, will continue operating at full capacity during the suspension.

AMAK said the move is intended to optimize longer-term ore production from the Saadah, Al Houra and Moyeath orebodies, which together make up the Al Masane underground mining complex. The financial impact will depend on the duration of the suspension and prevailing metal prices and is expected to be reflected in Q1-Q2 2026 results.

AMAK is a Saudi mining company focused on the exploration, development and production of base and precious metals. Established in 2007 and headquartered in Najran, it produces copper and zinc concentrates, as well as gold and silver in concentrate form.
