Turkey’s construction sector confidence index rose 1.5pct month on month to 85.7 in January 2026, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), although the reading remains below the optimism threshold.
By comparison, the retail trade confidence index fell 2.4pct to 112.6, while the services sector index increased 1.3pct to 113.8, indicating relatively stronger sentiment outside the construction sector.
TUIK’s confidence indices are measured on a 0-200 scale, where readings above 100 signal optimism and those below 100 indicate pessimism.
