Vallourec partners with XGS Energy to supply tubulars for geothermal projects

Vallourec and XGS Energy, a Palo Alto-based geothermal technology company, have announced a strategic supply chain partnership to support the development of next-generation geothermal projects across the western United States.

Under the agreement, Vallourec will supply high-temperature tubular solutions for XGS’s solid-state, closed-loop geothermal systems, a key component of the developer’s water-independent technology. Securing tubular supply supports XGS’s plans to begin construction this year on a 150 MW geothermal project in New Mexico, which will deliver power to the Public Service Company of New Mexico grid to support Meta’s data center operations. The partnership supports XGS’s broader pipeline of around 3 GW of commercial geothermal projects and marks a strategic expansion of Vallourec’s New Energies portfolio.

Vallourec’s advanced tubular solutions, including THERMOCASE vacuum insulated tubing, are designed to reduce thermal losses, improve heat exchange efficiency and enhance long-term reliability in high-temperature geothermal applications.

Headquartered in Meudon, France, Vallourec operates in more than 20 countries, with key production hubs in the US and Brazil. The company is a global leader in premium seamless tubular solutions for the oil and gas industry, with an annual production capacity of 2.1 mln tons.
