Tenaris wins pipe supply contract for Sakarya gas field project

Tenaris has been awarded a contract to supply line pipe, casing, coating and related services for the third phase of the Sakarya gas field project, operated by Turkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortakligi (TPAO) in the ultra-deep waters of the Black Sea.

The contract covers the supply of 22,700 tons of seamless pipes for flowlines and a 62 km monoethylene glycol (MEG) pipeline, along with 87,800 tons of welded pipes for a 180 km export pipeline. The seamless pipes will be produced at Tenaris’s Dalmine mill in Italy, while the welded pipes will be manufactured at the company’s Confab facility in Brazil.

All pipes will feature TenarisShawcor three-layer polypropylene (3LPP) anticorrosion coating, with coating applied at Tenaris’s Villamarzana facility in Italy. A 1.2 km section of the export pipeline will also include concrete weight coating for added offshore stability.

In addition, Tenaris will supply 7,700 tons of line pipe for production and MEG risers, as well as 10,000 tons of casing for offshore drilling operations. Part of the casing order will be delivered with Tenaris’s Dopeless technology to improve handling efficiency and performance.

The contracts will be executed under Tenaris’s integrated One Line service model, combining pipe manufacturing and coating solutions.
