Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has launched a new rebar sales round, offering lower prices compared with its previous round in November.
Under the latest price list, rebar in 12-32 mm sizes is offered at TRY 23,915 (USD 551) per ton EXW, versus TRY 24,100 (USD 560) per ton in the prior round, when the exchange rate stood at 42.05 TRY per USD.
Market sources said the mill closed the sales round shortly after opening, having secured satisfactory sales volumes.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, wire rods, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
