India’s state-owned miner NMDC Ltd produced 5.56 mln tons of iron ore in January 2026, up 9pct YoY from 5.1 mln tons, according to a stock exchange filing.
Iron ore sales also rose nearly 7pct YoY to 4.48 mln tons during the month.
For the April-January FY26 period, NMDC’s iron ore production increased to 42.45 mln tons from 35.87 mln tons a year earlier, while sales grew 9.7pct YoY to 39.73 mln tons.
NMDC operates three fully mechanized mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, with an annual production capacity exceeding 45 mln tons.
