The UAE’s Etihad Rail has awarded design-and-build contracts for the civil works and station packages of the high-speed rail line linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai, according to a MEED report.
The Abu Dhabi section of the project was awarded to a consortium comprising National Projects Construction, Trojan Tunnelling, Kalyon, and China State Construction Engineering Corporation.
Meanwhile, the Dubai section was awarded to a consortium led by Larsen & Toubro, alongside China Harbour Engineering Company and local firm Wade Adams.
The total value of the Abu Dhabi-Dubai high-speed rail scheme is estimated at around USD 8 bln, the report said.
