JSW Steel has awarded a contract to Danieli for the design and supply of a water-treatment plant to support Phase-3 expansion of its 4.5 mln tons per annum hot strip mill at the Dolvi Works in Maharashtra.
The new water-treatment plant will provide cooling water to the mill, caster and tunnel furnaces of the thin slab casting and rolling operation. With a total cooling-water circulation capacity of around 58,000 cubic metres per hour, the facility will be among the largest water-treatment plants delivered by Danieli.
The installation will incorporate Danieli’s DanFilters technology for high-capacity deep filtration, with a compact layout designed to optimize space utilization and ensure reliable, low-maintenance operation. Automation systems developed by Danieli Automation will enable advanced monitoring and process control.
The project will be executed on a fully indigenous basis, covering design, engineering, supply and advisory services, and is scheduled to be commissioned by December 2026.
The JSW Steel group’s consolidated crude steel capacity stands at 35.7 mln tons per year, with expansion plans to reach 43.4 mln tons within three years.
