ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has expanded its value-added steel portfolio with the launch of AM/NS Vibrance and AM/NS Optima, two premium branded coated steel products aimed at appliance and industrial OEMs.
The company said the new offerings are designed to meet growing demand for steel with consistent surface quality, tight tolerances and reliable large-scale performance, while reducing dependence on imports by providing internationally benchmarked products domestically. Vibrance and Optima add to AM/NS India’s existing value-added range, which includes Optigal, Magnelis, Optigal Prime and Optigal Pinnacle.
AM/NS Vibrance is a colour-coated steel solution developed for appliance manufacturers, combining strength, precision and enhanced surface aesthetics. It is designed to deliver consistent colour, controlled gloss and durable finishes, making it suitable for applications such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens and water dispensers.
AM/NS Optima is a premium true zero-spangle galvanized steel offering, providing higher surface uniformity and control than conventional galvanized products. Built on precision-engineered substrates, it enables predictable forming and consistent finishes, and is targeted at applications including AC outdoor units, panels and cleanroom installations.
The launches come as India’s consumer durables market continues to grow, with coated steel demand, currently estimated at 11.1 mln tons per year, projected to grow at an 8-10pct CAGR in the coming years. Demand from appliance and industrial applications is being supported by urbanization, rising consumer expectations and government initiatives such as the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and import substitution policies.
AM/NS India is a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel. The company operates 9 mln tons per year of crude steel capacity in India, along with downstream facilities and 20 mln tons per year of pellet capacity, producing a diversified range of flat and value-added steel products.
