Metal Park partners with World Steel to launch regional metals education hub

Metal Park has signed a strategic national alliance with the World Steel Association (worldsteel) and Steeluniversity, the association’s learning and training platform, to establish the Middle East’s first integrated Metals Education and Capability Ecosystem.

The agreement aligns global steel standards and education frameworks with production capabilities within the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) industrial environment.

The initiative brings together national industrial policy, global industry leadership and port and free zone infrastructure under AD Ports Group, alongside integrated downstream metals manufacturing.

The partnership supports the UAE’s Make it in the Emirates and Operation 300bn strategies by strengthening domestic steel capability, workforce development and long-term industrial competitiveness. Under the framework, education, certification and global standards will be embedded directly into the operating environment, linking skills development with measurable industrial performance.

Metal Park at KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, is an integrated industrial ecosystem for the metals sector, offering advanced storage, processing and fabrication facilities under a pay-as-you-go model, with direct connectivity to Khalifa Port and Etihad Rail. Its storage hub, launched in 2025, offers on-demand warehousing for metals, helping manufacturers reduce logistics and inventory costs.
