Braca Metals, a leading scrap-processing operator in New South Wales, has selected Danieli Centro Recycling to supply a new shredder-based recycling plant at its newly developed yard in Razorback, NSW, Australia.
The plant will be centered around a DCR 2227 heavy-duty shredder powered by a 4,000-hp (3,000 kW) main motor equipped with Danieli’s patented variable speed drive system. The technology is designed to reduce electricity consumption by up to 20pct while delivering sustained output of 100 tons per hour of high-quality ferrous scrap.
To ensure stable and safe operations, the plant will include a ZDS 250-800 preshredder for controlled de-bulking of incoming scrap, reducing explosion risks and optimizing feed consistency to the main shredder. The processed material will then pass through a comprehensive separation system featuring high-efficiency magnetic stages, cascade air separation and dedicated non-ferrous recovery units to maximize output purity. The optimized process layout is expected to improve scrap value recovery, operational safety and overall plant profitability.
