NMDC raises iron ore prices in March

India’s largest iron ore producer, National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), has increased prices for both iron ore lump and fines by INR 50-100 (USD 0.5-1) per ton, effective 6 March, according to a stock exchange filing.

Under the revised pricing, 65.5pct Fe lump ore (10-40 mm) is set at INR 4,800 (USD 52.2) per ton, while 64pct Fe fines (below 10 mm) are offered at INR 4,050 (USD 44.05) per ton.

The prices are quoted on a FOR (Free on Rail) basis and exclude statutory charges such as royalty, District Mineral Foundation (DMF) contribution, National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) charges, cess, forest permit and transit fees, GST, environmental cess, and other applicable taxes.

With operations spanning three fully mechanized mines, two in Chhattisgarh and one in Karnataka, NMDC collectively produces approximately 35 mln tons of iron ore, cementing its status as a key player in India’s iron ore sector.
