Tenaris has collaborated with Canadian energy company Cenovus Energy to advance thermal well design solutions aimed at improving efficiency and reliability in Canada’s oil sands operations.
The initiative focuses on optimizing well design and tubular technologies used in steam-assisted thermal recovery projects, where high temperatures and demanding operating conditions require specialized steel pipe solutions. The collaboration combines Tenaris’s expertise in advanced tubular products and engineering services with Cenovus’s operational experience in thermal oil production.
The companies said the work supports improvements in well integrity, operational performance and long-term reliability in thermal wells, which are widely used in Canada’s oil sands developments.
